Overview

Labtrum is a lab management application built by Catan Biotech for life-science research teams. We take your privacy seriously and have designed Labtrum to minimize data collection and keep your research data under your control.

Data We Collect

Labtrum collects only the data necessary to provide the app’s functionality:

• Account Identity: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier. If you choose to share your email through Sign In with Apple, we receive that email address. We use this solely to identify your account within the app.

• Research Data You Create: All laboratory data you create within Labtrum — including labs, lab spaces, animal species, racks, cages, animals, breeding records, IACUC protocols, measurements, and notes — is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple CloudKit.

• Collaboration Data: When you invite other users to your lab using Apple’s CloudKit Sharing, your lab data is shared with those users you have explicitly authorized. The invitation is delivered through Apple’s sharing mechanisms (such as iMessage or share URL).

Where Your Data Is Stored

All Labtrum data is stored in your own iCloud account through Apple CloudKit. Catan Biotech does not operate its own servers, does not maintain copies of your data, and cannot access your research data. Your data is subject to Apple’s privacy and security practices for iCloud.

Data We Do Not Collect

Labtrum does not collect, transmit, or have access to:

• Analytics or usage tracking data
• Advertising identifiers
• Location data
• Contacts
• Photos or media outside what you explicitly attach to records
• Any data shared with third-party services or SDKs

Labtrum contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to third parties. Your research data is shared only with the collaborators you explicitly invite to your lab.

Your Rights and Controls

You have full control over your data:

• View your data: All your Labtrum data is visible within the app at all times.
• Edit or delete records: You can edit or delete any record within the app.
• Remove collaborators: As a lab owner, you can remove members from your lab at any time, which revokes their access to your data.
• Delete your lab: Deleting your lab removes all associated records from iCloud.
• Revoke iCloud access: You can disconnect Labtrum from your iCloud account at any time via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → Labtrum.
• Account deletion: To delete all your Labtrum data, delete your lab(s) within the app and uninstall the app. You may also revoke Labtrum’s access to your Apple ID via Settings → Apple ID → Apps Using Apple ID → Labtrum → Stop Using Apple ID.

Subscription Information

Labtrum offers in-app subscriptions through Apple’s StoreKit. Subscription transactions are handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, billing details, or subscription history beyond the subscription status that Apple provides to verify your active tier.

Children

Labtrum is designed for professional research environments and is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, notified through the app or by contacting users directly.
